استقبل السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم وفداً من الحزبين الديمقراطي والجمهوري بمجلس الشيوخ الأمريكي

استقبل السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم وفداً من الحزبين الديمقراطي والجمهوري بمجلس الشيوخ الأمريكي، وعلى رأسهم السيناتور "ليندساي جراهام"، وذلك بحضور السيد سامح شكري وزير الخارجية، واللواء عباس كامل رئيس المخابرات العامة. 

وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية أن السيد الرئيس أكد الأهمية التي توليها مصر للتواصل الدائم مع قيادات الكونجرس الأمريكي في إطار التنسيق والتشاور بين البلدين الصديقين إزاء مختلف القضايا، انطلاقاً من متانة الشراكة الاستراتيجية الممتدة منذ عقود بين مصر والولايات المتحدة. ومن جانبه؛ أكد الوفد الأمريكي الأولوية الكبيرة التي توليها الولايات المتحدة للعلاقات الاستراتيجية مع مصر، مثمناً المستوى المتميز للتعاون المشترك بين البلدين، مع الإشارة إلى أن مصر تعد الركيزة الأساسية للأمن والاستقرار في الشرق الأوسط والعالم العربي.

وقد شهد اللقاء حواراً متعمقاً حول العديد من القضايا الدولية والإقليمية، حيث حرص الوفد الأمريكي على الاستماع لوجهات نظر وتقييمات السيد الرئيس بشأن تلك القضايا، خاصة فيما يتعلق بالأوضاع في إسرائيل وقطاع غزة، حيث عرض الجانب الأمريكي رؤيته في هذا الشأن، وأطلع السيد الرئيس على نتائج زيارته لإسرائيل، وتم التوافق بشأن خطورة الموقف الحالي، وضرورة العمل على الحيلولة دون اتساع دائرة الصراع الجاري، فضلاً عن ضرورة حماية المدنيين ومنع استهدافهم وتوفير المساعدات الإنسانية والإغاثية لقطاع غزة، بالإضافة إلى ضرورة إحياء مسار السلام بالمنطقة. وثمن الوفد الأمريكي في هذا الصدد دور مصر في الحفاظ على السلام، واستضافتها لقمة القاهرة للسلام يوم 21 الجاري، وكذا دورها القيادي في ضمان وصول الخدمات والمساعدات الإنسانية العاجلة إلى قطاع غزة. 

وأضاف المتحدث الرسمي أن السيد الرئيس أكد موقف مصر الثابت برفض استهداف جميع المدنيين المسالمين، وكذا رفض سياسات العقاب الجماعي والتهجير القسري للفلسطينيين من أراضيهم، مع ضرورة العمل الجدي لوقف التصعيد الراهن، وتكثيف التنسيق بين كافة الأطراف الفاعلة للدفع نحو تسوية القضية الفلسطينية من خلال الحل العادل والشامل، الذي يضمن حقوق الشعب الفلسطيني وإقامة دولته المستقلة وفق مرجعيات الشرعية الدولية ذات الصلة.

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a delegation from the Democratic and Republican parties in the US Senate, headed by Senator Lindsey Graham. The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry and Director of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service Major General Abbas Kamel.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said President El-Sisi stressed the importance that Egypt accords to being in constant contact with the leadership of the US Congress within the framework of coordination and consultation between the two countries regarding various issues, based on the strong decades-long strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States. The US delegation affirmed the high priority that the United States attaches to strategic relations with Egypt and valued the distinguished level of cooperation between the two countries, noting that Egypt is the main pillar of security and stability in the Middle East and the Arab world.

A number of international and regional issues were discussed in depth. The US delegation was keen to listen to the views and assessments of the President on those issues, especially with regard to the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip. The US delegation presented its view in this regard and shared  the outcome of its visit to Israel. There was agreement on the gravity of the current situation, the necessity of working to prevent the expansion of the ongoing conflict, in addition to the necessity of protecting civilians, preventing their targeting, and providing humanitarian and relief aid to the Gaza Strip. This is in addition to the necessity of reviving the peace process in the region. The US delegation expressed appreciation for Egypt's role in maintaining peace and hosting the Cairo Peace Summit on October 21, also appreciation for its leading role in ensuring the arrival of urgent humanitarian services and aid to the Gaza Strip.

The President affirmed Egypt’s firm position that rejects targeting of all peaceful civilians, as well as rejecting policies of collective punishment and forced displacement of Palestinians from their lands. This is in addition to the need to stop the current escalation and intensify coordination among all active parties to push towards resolving the Palestinian issue through a just and comprehensive solution,  which guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state in accordance with the relevant references of international legitimacy.
