انتهت مساء اليوم بالقاهرة جولة جديدة من مفاوضات سد النهضة، والتي عُقدت على المستوى الوزاري لمدة يومين بمشاركة الوفود المعنية من مصر، والسودان، وإثيوبيا.

وذكر المتحدث باسم وزارة الموارد المائية والري أنه تم التوافق على عقد الجولة القادمة في أديس أبابا، بغرض استكمال العملية التفاوضية التي بدأت على مدار الشهرين الماضيين، والتوصل بلا إبطاء لاتفاق على قواعد ملء وتشغيل السد الإثيوبي، وذلك بناء على توافق الدول الثلاث في أعقاب لقاء قيادتي مصر وإثيوبيا في ١٣ يوليو ٢٠٢٣.

A two-day round of talks on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) concluded this evening in Cairo. Ministerial teams representing Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan were present.

According to the spokesperson of Egypt's Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the three parties have agreed to conduct the upcoming round of negotiations in Addis Ababa. These discussions are part of the negotiation process that has been taking place for the past two months. The aim is to accelerate the finalisation of an agreement regarding the rules for the filling and operation of the GERD. This understanding was reached among the three countries, subsequent to the meeting between the leaders of Egypt and Ethiopia on the 13th of July, earlier this year.
